[Post 70] Finally, POST SEVENTY!!!

This post is going to be the last one for the assignment!! When I first noticed that I should make 70 posts in this blog, I did not know how to write those. In my case, whenever I had enough time to write a post, I was trying to make posts. I usually made one post in a day, but sometimes, I made three or more posts in a day. For me, the most difficult part in posting was selecting the topics!! Once I choose a topic, I felt that I'm done almost 50% of the whole tasks. As time goes by, I could reduce writing burden. I have still written a short paragraph about what I think at that time at odd time in Korean. I am trying to write something like those topics, but it is tough so far. However, I recognized that "No Pain, No Gain." If there is a pain, then there should have GAIN!! As I am an international student, this class was one of the most difficult but helpful courses. Based on what I learn in this course, I hope I can success on studying in the United States. Thank you!!

[Post 69]........Deer Crash.....

Last Saturday was a BIG day. I had a Christmas Party, which was held by my father's company, and at the same time, my mother was coming to the United States from Korea. I and my father went to the party, and met pretty a large number of people. When I had done the dinner at the party, I came out from the party and tried to pick my mother up to the Montgomery Airport. However, the problem was happened at that point. When I got out from the drive way, I saw a deer, and I stepped on the break. However, there was a car on the opposite road, and there was two more deers following the first one. I couldn't escape the second deer and the DEER HIT MY CAR.....omg.. I was completely shocked and I didn't know what should I do.. I was embarrassed and felt sad for the deer. I went back to the party to let my father know, and I kept crying.. My father calmed me down, and contacted to a police. It was the first time that I hit the deer, and It was still extremely Shocked to me.. The front part of the car was also badly damaged..

[Post 68] How I get relaxed myself.

When I feel tired or weary from my hectic life, I like taking a shower with HOT water. While I'm taking a shower or bath, I feel easy. I feel like all the fatigues of the day are getting out of my body. In addition, it is a good time that I can think nothing, but taking a shower. When I want to feel this condition more, then I sometimes stand under the water for a long time.
After taking a shower, I usually watch a romantic movie alone. Romantic movies also help me to be relaxed. Whenever I watch a romantic movie, I apt to be a emotional person. One of my favorite romantic movies is "the Notebook". This movie brings tears to many people's eyes, and I always drop tears during watching this movie. I like this kind of emotion!! It have never been achieved by anything, but taking a shower and a romantic movie.

[Post 67] Scholarship at the University.

When I was a Korean university student, there is not enough scholarship. There were only two kinds of scholarships that I could get. One was for outstanding students who had more than 4.4 GPA out of 4.5, and the other one is for students who had improved GPA remarkably. I was trying to get the second scholarship, because I had low GPA at that time. I had a promise with my parents that I will show them how much I improved. So I believed that it was good time to show my improved GPA and the scholarship. I had never received any scholarship before, so I tried my best to get a scholarship. I spent most of the time to study. I usually studied at the school library preparing for the assignments and exams. It was tough time, however, I finally got the scholarship at the end of that semester! It was a product of hard working. My parents were also pleased about the scholarship, and I was extremely happy that I was accomplished! Now I know that how glad when I achieve what I desired.

[Post 66] New Year's Day.

One of the most important festival in our country is New Year's Day. Unlike to the United States, people celebrate the holiday with their whole family. It is very difficult for us to gather together at the parent's home except for the big holidays such as New Year's Day. Joining together on this day helps us to strengthen the family's harmony and love. In addition, there is a traditional custom for the day. Most of the young people, who are usually less than 20 years old, receive gifts from the elders on this day. When the young people give a formal style bow of respect to the elderly people, and then they give money to us as a gift. Thinking back into my childhood memories, I did not have many memories about the New Year's Day but this custom. As getting older like 17 years old, I got more than 500 dollars. It has been almost 3 years that I could not take part in my family's New Year's day, I can't wait the day that I get together with all of my family members!

[Post 65] When I was trip to France.

Three years ago, I had traveled to France with my second sister in Christmas season. My sister lived in England for studying at that time, so I and my sister met at the France airport, Charles de Gaulle. We took a subway and a bus to get to the hotel. It was late night aroung 8 o'clock, so we were a little bit scared. From the next day, we went to Louvre Museum, Eiffel Tower, Notre-Dame de Paris, Montmatre, and so on. It took almost a whole day to see the Louvre Museum. There were also lots of beautiful Christmas decorations from here to there. We also saw the Nutcracker, which is one of the most famous Christmas ballets at the Opera National de Paris. The ballerinas and ballerinos were marvelous, and the place also wonderful. The performance hall is very huge, and there are lots of ornamentaions. I and my sister enjoyed Paris at that Christmas season, and I hope I can go to Paris soon!

[Post 64] Football.

When I was in Korea, I had never seen any football game. Football is an American sports, so I had no chance to watch this. However, football became one of my family's favorite sport game. I still do not know much about the football rules, however, it is very exciting! In between Alabama and Auburn, I am a little bit a fan of Auburn, so I usually cheer for the Auburn. I also saw the Iron ball two times, last year and this year, and I believe that the each Iron Ball is the most exciting game ever. Other than the college games, I also like to see the NFL, and I am pretty much a fan of Pittsburgh Steelers. Before I came to the United States, what made me to know the football was the football player, Hines Ward. He is a Korean-American, and he is the player of Pittsburgh Steelers. When I lived in Korea, I sometimes watched sport news about him. So I am trying to watch his game. I have never any chance to watch a football game in the stadium, so I hope I would go and watch the football game someday!!

[Post 63] Snowboarding.

I prefer winter season than the summer, because I hate sweating. However, aside from this fact, there is the primary reason that I can enjoy the winter sports. I love winter sports such as snowboarding and skiing. Since I was 10 years old, I have ridden ski and snowboard. I believe that it is somewhat different from other sports. Whenever I am doing snowboarding, it gives me a sense of both thrill and pleasure. And it can be caused sweating, however, I can be cool by the wind while I ride a lift. Furthermore, I am able to enjoy the beautiful mountain scenery when I go up to the top. I cannot explain how marvelous it is. All of the ski or snowboard resorts are built up by cutting mountains, so the views should not be bad!! For this, I love winter season and snowboarding, too!

[Post 62] Christmas and New Year!!

After I came to the United States, I experienced a lot of cultural things that are different from Korean. There is huge difference in Christmas and New York among the United States and Korea. In the case of Korea, as I compared with Christmas and New Year's day, Christmas is more likly to a couple's day, but the New Year's day is a family union day. If I go around a popular street or a mall alone on the Christmas' eve, I should feel so lonely because there are a large number of couples in everywhere. Until last year, I always counted down the coming new year with all of my family members. On the other hand, the United States celebrate the holiday the other way as far as I knew. On the Christmas day, family members get together, and the New Year's eve, couples or friends get together to celebrate the New Year. When I  was in New York at the end of the last year, I spent the Christmas day with my family and aunt's family members. However, on the New Year's eve, I and my two sisters went to a party that was held by my cousin. There were huge number of people to greet the New Year with their friends or a girl/boy-friend. It is quite different culture between the United States and Korea, and I like both of them. I believe that I will go after the each culture at each place!

[Post 61] The Impressionist, Edouard Manet.

Edouard Manet was born in 1832 from upper middle-class parents in Paris, France. When he first showed his interest in painting, his father denied supporting him; however, he was able to study art by the aid of his uncle, Charles Fournier. At the end, Manet became one of the well-known 19th-century artists, connecting the gap between realism and impressionism. Realism is the artistic movement that pursued accuracy and facts, on the other hand, impressionists were freer to do their works in terms of using colors or brush strokes, and they were trying to break the regular rules. Manet showed works that broken from the canons of acceptable subject matter and stylistic treatment. However, at the same time, he was trying to draw a subject and treatment that he hoped would be acceptable to prevailing tastes. In many respects, Manet kept hanging on to his position in terms of exhibitions, or the drawing. He insisted that modern artists’ works should be exhibit at the Paris Salon, so he opposed to show his paintings at impressionist exhibitions. And even though, he was influenced by some of renowned impressionists, such as Claude Monet, or Berthe Morisot, he stuck to his own drawing style like using black, uncharacteristic of impressionist painting. In 1883 at the age of fifty one, Manet died with his achievements as an impressionist in 19th- century.

[Post 60] MyThree Discourse Communities.

As people get older, they might experience variety kinds of environment, meet many people, and so on. For example, when we think about the first year of an elementary school, we basically belong to one community which is a school. Once we get involved in a school community, we usually make new friends and get to know what characteristics my friends have or which hobbies they have. We recognize that having a lot in common is much easy and fast way to make friends. This is what people now call a discourse community, and I have come under some kinds of discourse community. Korean language, baking, and baseball communities are what I get involved.
First of all, Korean language, my first language, community is important to me, because I am a foreigner in this American society. So, I feel more comfortable, when I talk with friends in Korean. Since I came to the U.S.A, I have studied English and I am able to take academic courses in English. However, there sometimes have communication problems in English in terms of sharing emotion particularly. Moreover, if I would like to ensure something about official documents such as student visa, I might ask to Korean experts who are in the same community. Therefore, I consider that Korean language community is one of the important discourse communities.
In addition, a community which is composed of people who like to bake is my other favorite community. By doing baking, I feel relax and, even more, I regain my mental security when I am oppressed by worry or feel bad. Accuracy is the most important point in order to success baking bread or cake, thus, I pay more attention to measure ingredients than to concern about something. Furthermore people easily take part in a baking community which has no limit in gender, race, age, or skills, and, at the same time, there are a lot of communities on the website which enable to access easily. Almost every people have to eat to live, so this community members share more broadened information which is related to our life than the other communities.
At last, baseball community is also my favorite discourse community. I believe that sports have special ability to gather people, and moreover, it has strong power, if people cheer for a special team or a person. I am a fan of New York Yankees, so I have conversations with other fans through Internet, and share lots of information only with the team. Although I have problem with communicating in English at odd times, I may compensate this matter by knowing much about the team. Most sports fans are always welcome to someone who is interested in their team or a person. For those reason, I like to be a member of baseball discourse community.
Those three sections are my favorite discourse communities, and I believe that belonging to some specific discourse community makes me profession in that field. In addition, the sense of belonging encourages people to get more interests and vitalize to their life. The more people get involved in discourse communities, the more they can improve the quality of their life.

[Post 59] Profile: Bri Trader

Whenever I take the English course, I usually sit the same seat in every Tuesday and Thursday. And there is a young pretty blond girl next to me at all times. She is Bri Trader. When I was in the class, I don't have much time to talk with her, because this English course does not have much discussion with classmates. However, today I finally got a chance to talk with her to do profiling.
She was born in Alaska, 1991. She had lived in Alaska, Alabama, Utah, and finally she lives in Alabama again, because of her parents. Her parents are both computer engineer at Maxwell-Gunter Air Force Base. So she moved to this State and that State. Also, she has a one real brother and 1 step brother and sister.
She is a freshman in this semester as pre-nursing major, and she will graduate in 2014. After she graduates from a pre-nursing school, she would like to be a Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) Nurse which provides a high level of intensive care to premature infants. She likes taking care of people generally, but especially, she loves little babies, so she should be a good NICU Nurse.
Reminisce upon her school days, her favorite subject was English. She liked to read books as for fun, and she still love to read books. And when she was a student, she was one of the members of her school cheerleader. At the first few years, she and other members are cheerleading for school basketball and football player. After that, she practiced cheerleading for a contest and participated in several contests. She also used to do gymnastics, when she was young.
She usually takes time to watch T.V or comedy movie with her cutie dogs, which are Bartok, Phoebe, and Baby Girl. She loves her pets, and at the same time, she likes comedy genre, such as Whip It, which has a power that makes many people to be happy and funny. Based on this, her favorite actress is Ellen Paige, who is a Canadian movie star. And she also likes to watch sports game, such as gymnastics or ice-skating.
In terms of her inclination, she is somewhat combination that is both extrovert and introvert. If she knows someone, she might be talkative to them. On the other hand, if she never knows someone, she might be quite and introverted. Furthermore, unlike many southern Americans, she does not have religion, and rather than, she is an agno

[Post 58] What I learned...

Do you know how many papers students write in a semester? In academic students’ cases, they have to write at least one or two papers in a semester on average. And graduate students also should write one thesis in order to graduate. Moreover, graduates, who are looking forward a job, are required to write a resume and a letter of self-introduction. In these cases, if they have a writing skill, they might have done their job effectively and efficiently. Therefore, writing skill is one of the essential abilities to students. As I am one of academic students, I also have taken this English composition course, which enable me to learn how to write a literacy narrative, analyze a text, and write a compare and contrast paper.
At first, I learned about literacy narratives, which should include a well-told story, vivid detail, and some indication of the narrative’s significance. A well-told story means that the writer captures the readers’ interests and makes them keep reading. Vivid details are expressed by well-described circumstances, dialogue, and etc. And some indication of narrative’s significance is the purpose of the writing. When I wrote my literacy narrative, I was trying to describe well, write a dialogue between me and my mother. And I choose three people who made me to get interests in reading and wrote more detailed circumstances with them. Furthermore, I made an effort to write funny and entertaining essay. So, at the end, I made an interesting and well-explained literacy narrative.
In addition, analyzing a text was another writing skill that I learned. Analyzing a text means that interpretation it beyond what the text tells you directly. So, the key features of textual analysis are a summary of the text, attention to the context, a clear interpretation or judgment, and reasonable support for your conclusions. When I learned the textual analysis, the instructor showed us various kinds of advertisement. Ads were enough to know the analyzing a text, because they implied many different meanings in 30 seconds or a poster. Furthermore, I analyzed a sports drink, Gatorade, which was trying to attract men, because they used many of men as main characters find
At last, I got to know how to write a compare and contrast essay. Comparing and contrasting paper considers similarities and differences between two things. And there are two ways of comparing and contrasting, which are block and point-by-point method. In addition, using graph and images are good way to compare and contrast. Based on these information, I wrote a compare and contrast essay between two different kinds of sports drinks by using block method. I also searched some numerical information of them.
I had learned those three types of writing skills in class. As I am an international student, composition is a pretty difficult part; however, I get to know how to write with effect. Furthermore, I like the method that I always had chance to write about what I learned before. I could practice it, noticed my weaknesses, and at the same time, made corrections. Therefore, I satisfy my English composition course, and I am looking forward to have more opportunities that I can learn other writing skills.

[Post 57] Profile: My cousin, Peter Chun.

Have you ever had luncheon with Rihanna? Many people are eager to see celebrities and look at photos of their daily lives while some people style themselves on their favorite celebrities all over the world. So, it is rarely happens that ordinary people get to meet celebrities in reality. However, one of my cousins, who works at a magazine publisher in New York, has luncheon or takes time with celebrities, such as Rihanna or Shakira at odd times. He is the man, Peter Chun.
Mr. Chun was born to Korean parents in New Jersey in 1982, and he has one older brother. Since he was born, he has lived in the same state, New Jersey. He graduated from Rutgers University as Sociology major in 2004. After graduation, he was employed in a Consumer Marketing and Circulation department for Rolling Stone of Wenner Media. He also has been special interested in the music field, so he became a Managing Partner and Marketing Director for Base NYC as a sideline. He enjoys hanging out with his friends, and at the same time, he likes watching tightly-plotted movies and listening to the music of his favorite Korean singers, like 2NE1 or Seven by himself.
Wenner Media, where Mr. Chun works at, is a media company in the United States, and they own three popular magazines, "Rolling Stone", "Men's Journal", and "US Weekly." Rolling Stone has covered everything from music and popular culture to in-depth politics for more than forty years. The consumer marketing and circulation department of Wenner Media mainly manages the magazine subscriptions. In addition, another company, Base NYC, was launched in 2004, and it is an event planning and marketing firm. They host a party every Friday and special holidays such as Halloween, Christmas, and New Year's Eve with live performances of celebrities or artists.
Based on those his personal and company information, I asked him that "Do you get a sense of achievement through doing your job successfully?", and he said "Definitely. Otherwise, why do it?" When his Director compliments his work or when he has reached his goals, he feels good. Once he completes large projects there is relief to know not only that it has been completed but that he was able to do the job and meet his goals successfully. At the end of this question, he added "Achievement = growth of an individual."
Carrying on the interview, I inquired about "Would you say that you have to communicate a lot with others to do your job successfully?", and he said "Yes." When he works as a consumer marketing and circulation employee, "part of my job is to communicate with a fulfillment house out in Iowa that handles all of our billing, renewing, customer service, and customer database." His department has to communicate with them at all times to make sure that they handling business efficiently and effectively. Since he is not working in the same office or even in the same state, he "must" communicate through e-mail and phone calls to make sure that everything is being handled correctly. Furthermore, as a party planner, communicating with his coworkers is necessary. The party can be only held by support of various departments such as a public relations or a guest-invitation. He emphasized that "it is very important to remain cordial with work peers so that work can get done in a beneficial manner."
He is very detail-oriented in his field. A lot of his job is making sure that reports are correct and that he meets deadlines. He should "pay attention and look at his calendar to make sure everything is up-to-date" so that the workload does not pile up and gets completed in time. He also keeps tons of notes and has a checklist of jobs he needs to do so that he does not miss a step. In this context, he said that "being active on e-mails and copying right people on e-mails is also very important." He likes to organize and save his e-mails to make sure he can cover himself if any problems arise. Furthermore, as one of the alumni of Sociology, he is fairly analytic to human social activity. So he is magnanimous and quick to understand in a casual relationship. When I looked up his Facebook profile, he has more than one thousand friends on it. It is true that people can make a friend, who never knows each other, through the Facebook. However, I believe that he has kept contacting with his considerable number of Facebook friends in daily life.
As I interviewed Mr. Chun, the quotation of Oprah Winfrey struck me that "Doing the best at this moment puts you in the best place for the next moment." Mr. Chun always has done his job deligently in his day job, and he keeps thinking and managing his own business to upgrade the quality of his party. His continuous attention to his friends through both online and offline sticks his friends with him. These made what he is today, and simultaneously, these would make him a better future.

[Post 56] Literacy Narrative: Someone who taught me to read.

How many books do you read on average in a year? When I was an elementary school student, I hated to read books. I rarely read more than ten books in a year. I did not notice how I could refresh my mind by reading books, until I became middle school age. I believed that looking at books only made me feel bored or even more, fall asleep, like sleeping tablets. However, I changed the way I thought about reading books, positively, through my father, a tutor, and my friend.
At first, my father had an enormous influence on my reading habits. My father usually looked at books or newspapers after dinner. I have a clear recollection of a conversation between my mother and me. I said "Mommy, I cannot understand my daddy that he reads books every night instead of playing with me!" Then, my mother responded "My sweetie, why do not you try talking with him about what you read. I am sure that you and your daddy will have a free discussion about your reading." From that day, I was curious about the debate between me and my father, so I tried to read books. I found it tiring to begin with, but I soon got used to it. Finally I had finished the novel, Momo, which was my father's first recommendation. The book is fantasy novel, which is about how humans spend their time in modern societies. It was a pretty thick book for a nine-year-old girl; however, I had taken to it in a short time. I and my father had a discussion about time management, and I made my time schedule, which included reading time with my father every single day. Moreover, he sometimes showed me movies which were related to book that I had already read. Those methods made me to get interested in looking at books, especially novels.
In addition, the second person who taught me to read books was my reading tutor. In most previous reading lessons, I had to read at least one book in a week, and turn in a book report. However, the tutor was teaching me how I got interested in books, not just reading or looking at. When I was young, bookstores, where I had gone with my mother, were small local ones. However, the tutor took me to grand bookstores, and we enjoyed seeing various kinds of books. I did not like to read books, but I began to like to go to those huge bookstores. That gave me many opportunities to see various genres of books, and I figured out that I like to smell books. The only genres I was familiar with were fiction, biography, and poetry. However, there are a lot of genres which include autobiography, fantasy, and etc. It was huge impact on me, because I wanted to look at different genres of books by knowing that. Furthermore, my preference of smelling books made me want to keep possessing, and consequently, looking at books. And when I taking her lessons, my tutor and I made a promise; if I read given books in a month, she would go to bookstore once a month. As I was a young girl at that time, I tried to keep the promise. For those reasons, I soon became interested in books, and besides, I came to be fond of reading.
At last, one of my friends taught me a special way to read books. In South Korea, all twenty-year-old boys and girls celebrate one day, which is called Coming-of-Age day. It is customary that parents or someone, who would like to celebrate the boys and girls, gives them a bouquet of roses and a perfume. By the way, one of my friends gave me a novel, On Love, with a piece of message, "I hope that you enjoy this book, and you are going to like this book." It was a pretty common message; however, I felt something from it. The book is written by Alain de Botton, and it is about the philosophical love. It was difficult to understand not only the plot, but also each sentence, although it is written in my first language, Korean. So I tried to keep reading the book as many times as it took so that I could understand. And I found out that every single reading gives me different feeling toward the same book. For example, if I felt sorrowfulness to the main character at first, on the other hand, I felt joyfulness. In addition, I could speed up the rate of reading, which was one of my weak points in reading. When I was young, I had low rate, so I usually looked at book inferiority. Therefore, I could encourage myself by increasing my rate of reading and knowing what the enjoyment of repetition of reading. My friend did not ask me to do something about my reading habit directly; however, the book with a piece of message inspired me to have interests in reading.
Those three people, my father, the tutor, and my friend, taught me to read in various ways. Those methods were totally different from each other, however, all of them made me have interests in reading and books. I believe that being interested in reading and books is the most important thing to improve one's reading habits. Therefore I could not help mentioning those three people, in particular.

[Post 55] I'm going to Move to Georgia.

For about four months ago, I was busy to prepare transferring. I had to fill out a few applications and posted them to each university with some documents such as transcripts of both AUM and my Korean university, TOEFL score, bank balance of my father, and so on. It was a tough time to prepare all the documents perfectly. However, I fortunately got admission from all of the universities what I applied, and I decided to go to University of Georgia, Athens from the Spring 2011. I am excited to move there and start my new college year!! And on the other hand, I feel at ease that I could transfer to there. When I first transferred to AUM from my Korean university, I made a promise with my parents that I will transfer to another university. So I felt so good when I got all of the admissions. Nowadays, I am pretty busy to move there and prepare other documents correctly. I hope that I can adapt to the new life there and study hard.

[Post 54] Black Friday!

On this Thanksgiving holiday, I went to a Walmart to enjoy the Black Friday. This was the first time me to participate this event. I did not have things to buy, however, my friend wanted to buy a Nintendo at a low price. So, we were planning to go to Walmart at 4:45, and when I arrived at there, I was shocked! At first, I had never seen that almost all over the parking lots were packed. And inside the Walmart, there were also a huge number of people. Many people lined up in front of counters or booths where the stuffs what they wanted to buy were placed. And what was even more surprised me was that police officers were deployed for security. I took some videos that how many people were there, and how about the circumstance there at 5:00 AM!! I bought something like a digital camera case, a thumb drive, and so on. It was very surprising, but I will never forget this circumstance!

[Post 53] The history of Fashion.

Coco chanel said "Fashion is not something that exists in dresses only. Fashion is in the sky, in the street, fashion has to do with ideas, the was we live, what is happening." That means Fashion includes everything which is related to everyday life. Fashion industries include from clothes to accessories. Nowadays, the number of fashion designers are increasing trend, and they have created the new style. For example, the late Alexander Macqueen, who had huge influence on Fashion industry, created the most highest heels that is is about 12 inches!
Dating back to 1800s, Fashion design was started by a dressmaker, Sharles Frederick Worh (1826-1895) in Paris, France and spreaded to England, UK. Many of French designers had great effects on Fashion industry. However, Italy has lead the world of Fashion since the 70s and 80s. The most influential designers were Lanvin, Chanel, Patou, and Vionnet, and they made clothes according to Haute Couture, Ready-to-Wear, and Mass market.

At the first time, some classes like loyal courts wore designed clothes to show of allegiance to public. Later, fashion had been expanded to publics by Paul Poi Ret.

[Post 52] Rite of Passage of Retirement in Spain.

When I took English As a Second Language course AUM, one of my friend came from Spain. We had interviewed each other about rite of passage of their countries, and I got to know about the Spain's. A large number of Spaniards regard the retirement as a rite of passage. The average age of retirement is 65 years old for the both male and female. And, the government is trying to expand the ages to seventy, offering much of economic incentives. However, regardless of this policy, many people do not want to work at their sixties or more. There are a few reasons why people would want to retire before the determined age.
A great number of Spanish people think that they might get more freedom after retirement. About over 50% of people get more stress, when they are at their work place. And they have enough time to do their hobbies, and even more, enjoy their life, when they get retired. For example, in my friend's uncle case, he started riding a bicycle after he got retired. He spends much of his time to do this, and he also stays in healthy.
Furthermore, people could get financial aid from the government. Spanish government has a social security program for retirement. People can get retirement income benefits through this program. However, people should meet over two agreements that employees must be 65 years old and have 15 years or more career. And the financial aid depends on people's work results.

[Post 51] Lucky, Lucky, Lucky!

On this Christmas holiday, I am planning to go to New York with my Korean friends. They are my best friends, since I was a high school students, so I am already counting down this Christmas holiday. However, we did not reserve the hotel only a few days ago. Many of hotels in Manhattan are quite expensive like more than two hundreds dollars. So we were looking for a hotel near the Manhattan, which is much cheaper than in the Manhattan. By the way, on the Cyber Monday, I found a hot deal. The four star Omni hotel in Manhattan was only 99 dollar plus tax!! I never have seen this price hotel in Manhattan, so I and my friends booked the hotel with far better than expected price and grade. It was so Lucky day!!

[Post 50] New Orleans.

Before the Thanksgiving holiday, I went to New Orleans with my friend. It was third time that I visited there. New Orleans is pretty close to Alabama, so it is easy to get there. They also have a variety of their traditional foods such as gumbo soup, beignet, char grilled oyster, and so on. Their foods are somewhat different to the traditional American foods, and in my own opinion, it is more likely to Asian foods to some degree. One of my favorite New Orleans' foods is the beignet. It is a kind of doughnut, however, it is a hot plain one serving with far much of powered sugar!! I believe that it couldn't have been better than other ones. And New Orleans allows people to drink alcohols by law as far as I knew. So, my friend also drank a big bottle of cocktail shake while he was walking on the street. In addition, there always have street performances from dancing to playing on musical instruments. New Orleans is a great place to take a rest with delicious foods and live performances.
